Logitech Unifying Software can't download on Surface 2

My Logitech receiver broke and I had to buy another one to use my Logitech mouse on my Surface 2.  I went to Logitech website to download the software so that the receiver and mouse can work together. I  got a message that they are unable to download software because  I need a Windows App.  I searched in the Windows store and there is no app.  How can I get my mouse working again on my Surface 2?  Makes me question why I purchased a Surface 2 in the first place...

you can't install any software that comes from outside the store.

that being said, I have no issues using a Logitech receiver with my mouse and keyboard on my surface 2. just plug it in and it works as expected. just use a normal computer to set it up. the surface 2 is not a normal computer, if that's what you expected then I question your decision to buy one in the first place.
