Auto-rotation for Microsoft Surface 9 isn't working anymore

Hello,

I'm using a Microsoft Surface 9, and the auto-rotation stops after the last update! For my surprise, that's a common bug for many Microsoft Surface users, even though we are using a device designed by the operating system company itself.

This is frustrating, one of the previous update rendering the same issue and Microsoft does not solve it! Users need to manually rotate the device! That's ridiculous.

To make things worse, the virtual keyboard wasn't showing up anymore, but I fixed it by myself somehow. The windows bottom tab is smaller now. The previous size was good!

To summarize, that last update is BUGGY!

And going to Surface Diagnostic Toolkit doesn't solve the problem!

    Hi Tiago!

Thanks for reaching Microsoft Community. We're here to help and let's work on this together.

I understand you're having issues with your Surface device. Happy to help and provide more options here.

To further isolate the issue, please allow us to ask a few questions.

    • What version and build of Windows is your Surface device running?
    • Which Surface Pro 9 are you using? The intel one or the 5G capable one?

Most common reason for this issue can be caused by a corrupted or outdated operating system. Please follow suggested troubleshooting steps below:

Since performing the Surface Diagnostic toolkit did not help, could you please try to manually update your drivers and firmware. Please see through this link Download drivers and firmware for Surface - Microsoft Support on how to.

After updating your drivers and firmware, please try to force your device to shut down and restart. Press and hold power button for 20seconds, wait for the Windows logo to appear, once it does, release the button and wait for your Surface device to restart.

Please let us know how it goes. We look forward to hearing from you.

    Greetings,

    RodelioP.
