Hi,

I would like to create a VM with intel processor tracing (IPT) enabled.

According to the following articles the processor must support the PT2GPA (hence to have the Ice Lake Microarchitecture), and the host needs to enable processor tracing for the VM.

Can this be done?

https://software.intel.com/content/www/us/en/develop/documentation/vtune-cookbook/top/configuration-recipes/configuring-hypervvm-for-hardware-hotspots-analysis.html

Thanks

@Or Ben-Porath Apologies for the delay in response and all the inconvenience caused because of the issue since I was having discussion internally which took sometime.

Currently it is not possible as we don’t provide customers access to the underlying hardware. Assuming this requires vPMU enablement which we do not currently expose those counters to the VM in GP. But we are having conversations in this regard.

    Hope it helps!!!
