Blank white screen - only cursor working

my Surface 3 Pro is 3 weeks old.

Have upgraded it successfully to Windows 10, with which it was running smoothly for two weeks.

Now, of a sudden, its screen turned white and completely blank. Nothing appears except for the cursor which works normally.  Nothing else appears.  The cursor moves, apart from that the computer is entirely unresponsive.

None of the tricks of my 30 years of working with Windows are bringing anything forth.

After Switch off, the same blank white screen appears - every time.

HELP, please!

I have, after all, resolved the problem myself:

I simply did not press the two buttons long enough (power and volume+)

Keeping them depressed for a good 30 seconds did - after another 10 seconds or so - of a sudden replace the white screen with the black "Surface" screen, from thereon the machine booted up as if nothing had ever been amiss.

What does Narrator (Win-Enter) say and show (Caps Lock + Enter) (or at least say that it shows)?  <eg>
