Hello, Kylah1.
Welcome to Microsoft Community!
I have noticed that your Surface Pro 7 is currently not connecting and working with your keyboard. You have already performed a test via your friend's keyboard, which could indeed mean that your Surface Pro 7 has some faults when connecting.
In order to rigorously troubleshoot the possible causes, we will investigate separately at the driver and system level as well as at the hardware level.
First, we will perform the driver level troubleshooting means. Usually, we can manually obtain the driver and firmware installation package for Surface Pro 7 to update the driver environment:
Download Surface Pro 7 Drivers and Firmware from Official Microsoft Download Center
Reboot your device after the download is complete to see if the keyboard connects. If the problem stems from the driver, then performing this procedure will usually resolve it.
If we are still unable to use the keyboard after completing the driver and firmware updates, then we need to further investigate the issue at the hardware level. I recommend that you send your Surface Pro 7 to the Surface Support team for a hardware service.
I can direct you to Surface Live support, who can help you create a service order:
- Use your personal Microsoft account (not your organization account) to access the following links:
- Type Surface, press Enter, and click "Contact Support" at the bottom:
- Select Technical Support and select the device model you are currently using in Produce family, then click Confirm:
- You will see contact options for Chat support and Phone support, please contact them during business hours:
I wish you all the best.
Best Regards.
