Issues with Surface Precision Mouse

Got a Precision Mouse.

Connected it up, downloaded the recommended software and it asked to do a firmware upgrade. Upgrade finishes without any issues, now the Bluetooth of the mouse won't work properly.

The mouse pairs and connects, but after 5 seconds disconnects, waits for another 3 seconds, connects for 5 seconds, and on and on and on.

If you plug the mouse in, it works fine. In fact, if you plug the mouse into anything (a powerbank for example), it works fine. As soon as you unplug, the connect/disconnect happens.

I've tried it on a SurfaceBook 3, Surface Pro 7, MacBook Pro, Mac Pro and a Dell XPS 9570 and all show exactly the same issue. I've tried to find a new firmware or a way of reverting the firmware but got nothing.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to resolve this?

Thanks.

    Hi Kev Bowker,

Thank you for reaching Microsoft Community. We're sorry for the inconvenience this has caused you. This might be due to a driver malfunction, most common issues can be resolved by running the Surface Diagnostic Toolkit. For more information about troubleshooting Bluetooth mouse issues, see Fix Bluetooth problems in Windows.

Let us know how it goes.

    Kind regards,

    Hi Lavenia.

Just a quick question, if it was a driver issue, why would I have the same issue on five different devices, including two which used a completely different OS?

Would the driver resolve the issue with the firmware?

    Thanks,

    Kev.

Which device it was paired when ask to install the firmware upgrade? Can you send us a screenshot of which update was installed?

    Hi.

Just so you are aware, there were no issues found.

I know the response will be for me to contact Microsoft Support, but I've been trying that for two days and ended up in a never-ending loop.

I noticed you commented on my Surface Pen issue, asking me to contact Microsoft Support. Again, I've been trying and I keep on getting fobbed off.

I've given up on all things Microsoft. I'll move my hardware and software to another platform. I know it won't make a dent in Microsoft's bottom line, but I've wasted all day trying to get this issue resolved. My time is worth more than that.

    Regards,

    Kev.

    One of my PC's.

This was two months ago. I've been using the device plugged in,

Don't worry about it, I know the answer will be to contact Microsoft Support.

    Cheers,

    Kev.
