Gripped by indecision! Suface Book vs HP Spectre x360
Hey, Everyone. Would appreciate anyone's input on helping me decide which laptop to purchase.
I'm torn between the HP Spectre x360 and the Surface Book. Both seem to serve my purpose well. I'm comparing Spectre's 8g / 7th Gen i7 / 256g SSD with the Surface Book 8g / i5 / 128g SSD.
I'm not a heavy gamer (my son plays Roblox and Minecraft), so wondering how important the integrated graphics card is on the HP for my needs? The tablet part is not vital either (a nice option though) but my real question comes down to this. I love the idea of plugging a laptop into external monitors / keyboard at home, + work space, and using multi screens, so the Surface Dock really appeals to me! Is it easy to replicate that set up using the HP or is it just "wire-city???"
On paper the HP seems to be better on most things at this price point and specification, such as latest / faster processor, more HD storage, and in Dark Ash Silver it just looks sexy as heck! Surface Book has a better screen resolution and has the removalable screen, plus the Docking ability that I kinda want. I like portability too!
At the moment HP.com have the Spectre with this config at $1105 + tax and Costco are selling the Surface Book with Surface Dock for $1350 + tax. (Everyone else seems to have the Surface Book at around $1500.) I was hoping MS might heavily discount it with the introduction of the Surface Laptop but no such luck yet ;)
What would you buy out of these? Thanks for reading and thanks in advance for your input.
