I suddenly cannot find the rotation lock in my Settings I would like to disable it but the only way I can change the orientation is to go into my settings and manually do it. Also, I have the surface 6.
Hi FaithDerrick,
Thanks for reaching Microsoft Surface Community. I’m sorry hear about your concern with regards on your Rotation lock on your Surface Pro 6. We do have some suggestions and follow up questions just to have this isolated and lead us to the right resolution.
May we know how do you usually use your Surface Pro 6?
On what orientation do usually prefer?
Note: The Rotation Lock will be greyed out when your Surface Type cover is attached in your Surface Pro 6.
You can check the "Rotation Lock" by going to Windows Settings> Display> Under Scale and Layout.
This is actually by design, as we try to reproduce it when the keyboard is attached, the Rotation lock will automatically greyed out because the system will detect that the orientation is good for landscape or laptop mode type only.
Unless if you remove the Surface Type cover, you can manually turn ON and OFF the Rotation Lock.
If it’s ON you can play with the Display orientation and choose what orientation fits you.
If it’s OFF the Display Orientation will be Greyed out and when you try to flip the screen physically to Landscape or Portrait aspect, the Display Orientation will automatically change too.
If this works, we highly encourage you to inform our Community by clicking on Yes or marking my post as an Answer. This will help other members who may have the same issue as you. Otherwise, don't hesitate to update us by posting or replying so we can further assist you.
Regards,
Edd
