I bought a Surface Book and, after updating it, found that the pen frequently clicks/activates when it is hovering very close to the screen. This results in unintentional clicks and doubled clicks. The problem is most obvious when I am typing with the pen on the touch keyboard but it is a consistent problem with pen input across the board.
A video I made demonstrating the problem is at https://youtu.be/W8p3vQNyF_c
Based on a chat with Surface Support I purchased another Surface Book intending to return the first as defective.
The problem of the pen clicking before it contacts the screen is also happening on the second Book.
· I have fully updated both Books.
· I have tried re-installing the operating system.
· I have tried the two-button shutdown.
· I have tried adjusting the pen sensitivity.
· I have verified that the problem occurs with three different Surface Pens.
· I own a Surface Pro 3 and am familiar with how the pen should work.
· My fingers are not touching the screen when I am using the pen.
I love the Book and really need to get it working - can someone help?

Hi, Oliver,
The issue is happening across three different pens. Replacing the battery does not help.
Thanks,
Emily

Hi, Oliver,
Unfortunately the answer desk has
has not been able to help me. They sent me to a Microsoft store (an hour away) where I found that the problem was happening on the floor models of both the Surface Book and Surface Pro 4.
I believe I just need to escalate this issue to someone on the development team, but have had no luck in figuring that out.
Any owners of Surface Book or Surface Pro 4, can you try typing with the pen on the touch keyboard into a Notepad file and see if you are able to do so without doubled characters?
I'd very much appreciate any feedback.
thank you!
Emily
