Power cord does not fit into power adapter box

Just received my new Surface Pro 3 and troubled to find out that the cord does not stay fit into the adapter box. It goes in about 1/4" and is very loose. I can not push it in further and it falls out if I let it go. If I hold it together tightly the light does go on and it starts charging.

I tried to contact Microsoft using their support "Answer Desk" and get to step 3 with Chat or Phone option and then nothing. The links are blue boxes and when I press them nothing happens.

    Hello Matt Cronic

Thank you for updating us.  Have you reached back out through the channel you initially set up the replacement through?

I understand you have had difficulty contacting Support through the website.  Did you try both Here and Here?

    Best regards

    Ben,

I did try IE browser also with no luck, but then called the support number. There I had a positive experience and in less than 10 minutes concluded a call where I will be shipped a replacement in about 5 business days.

Thank you for your help and reference to the call number.

    Matt

    Hello Matt Cronic,

Thank you for posting to the Microsoft Community. Sorry to hear about the troubles you're having with the power cord of your Surface Pro 3.

After reading your post, the first thing I would do is try to reach a Microsoft store is there is one in your area for a replacement and if there isn't one, I would recommend you try to reach out to our Care team for a replacement.

    The can be reached here.

I understand you've tried to reach them and failed, I would suggest you try with a different browser and if you're still not able to, please try calling them directly at this number listed here.

Once again sorry for the troubles and hopefully this issue is quickly taken care of for you.

    Please keep us posted.

Update: It has now been 4 weeks and Microsoft has still not sent a replacement. They did send an email two weeks ago asking if I received it. I replied "No" and have yet to receive an email reply or receive the replacement part. Sorry to say I am very disappointed in Microsoft's customer support. They appear to have the right tools in place, they just don't use them properly.
