Surface Pro 7 with Surface 3 dock

Upgrading from my Surface Pro 3 to a Surface Pro 7.  I have a docking station for the S3 and it works perfect with dual external monitors.  I can't get the Monitor attached to the "Mini Display Port" of the S3 Dock to recognize the attached HDMI monitor, the second monitor is attached via USB port and works OK.   Everything works seamless with my S3 not with my New S7.

Ideas Tricks ?

    Hi EarlRothrock,

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Community.

We would like to ask if the docking station you are using is between 2nd, 3rd and 4th docking station stated on this page? If yes, we apologize since those older docking stations wont work with the new Surface Pro 7. We suggest that you get the Surface Dock for the Surface Pro 7.

If you are using already the new Surface Dock and connecting your 2 external monitors not working, you may refer to this page to Troubleshoot connecting Surface to second screen and Troubleshoot Surface Dock.

If this answer your question, we highly encourage you to inform our Community by clicking on Yes or marking my post as an answer. This will help other members who may have the same issue as you. Otherwise, don't hesitate to update us so we can further assist you.

    Kind Regards,

    Marrion Y.

Yes I am using the surface 3 dock,   sad to hear that my surface 7 is not backward compatible.   Not happy but guess that is the way it is.

    Thank you for the response.
