Surface pro 9 16GB/ 1TB

Hi

One month ago I bought a surface pro 9 with 16GB ram, and the ssd hard drive was 256GB, but because I needed about 1TB space, the company from which I bought the laptop, upgraded the ssd hard drive to 1TB (spectrum SP700 NVMe 3×4 2230). But from the First day I'm using it, it drains battery faster than expected. With a 50% screen brightness, turned on wifi, meanwhile reading PDFs and sometimes searching the net, it lasts about 6 hours which cannot be compared to the time declared by the company (about 15 hours with a normal use). Can it be because of upgrading the ssd hard drive? Can changing the hard drive affect battery usage at all? And if yes, is it because of high capacity of 1TB which is incompatible to 16 GB ram or because the new ssd drive isn't from the Microsoft company but spectrum and it has made it incompatible using a lot of battery, what do you suggest I do about this issue? thanks in advance.

    Hi Reza,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

I'm Hahn and I'm here to help you with your concern.

Upgrading the SSD in your Surface Pro 9 generally doesn't affect battery life, as different SSDs have different power consumption rates. If the Spectrum SP700 NVMe SSD uses more power than the original SSD, it could result in reduced battery life, but the difference shouldn't be as dramatic as you're experiencing. While NVMe SSDs generally have standard power requirements, power management and efficiency can vary slightly. SSDs that aren't optimized specifically for the Surface Pro may use more power. To fix this, you can try the following steps:

I hope this helps. If there is anything not clear, please do not hesitate to let me know.

    Your Sincerely
