I have a new Surface Pro 11 w/Windows 11. Cannot Cast TO this device as a wireless display.

When I attempt to Cast TO the Pro the screen pops up but never comes off the main screen.

When I attempt to Cast FROM this device to a Surface Laptop, it works just fine.

I installed the Optional Wireless Display already.

    Hello Amy,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

I fully understand your need. In fact, six months ago, a customer already gave us feedback on this issue, you can read some of the information in the following thread:

Unable to cast from Windows 11 machine to Surface Pro 11 Wireless - Microsoft Community ****

However, as a community support, we are not part of the Surface support team, so in fact, we can not directly fix this issue, it is really the Surface support team that can do this.

I checked the update history of the Surface Pro 11, and the last update was on December 12, but there doesn't seem to be a fix for this issue:

Surface Pro (11th Edition) update history - Microsoft Support

So I recommend you to vote by clicking the poll link in the moderator thread. If you'd like to get in touch with live support from the Surface technical support team about this issue, we've updated the contact information, which you can do through the Surface App:

Open the Surface App (usually built into your Surface device, or you can download it from the Microsoft Store if you don't have one) and follow the procedure below:

    1. Click "Help and Support" and then click "Get Help".
    2. Briefly describe your problem in the text box, such as "Surface Pro 11 can't be projected as a wireless display
    3. ", and then press Enter.
    4. Click "Contact Support" at the bottom.
    5. Select "Technical Support" and click "Confirm".
    6. You will see "Chat support" or "phone support" options, please contact them during working hours, you will get one-to-one support services.

I wish you all the best.

    Best Regards,

Mitchell | Microsoft Community Support Specialist
