Seems to me if it works with the Surface Pros, it should work plugged into the AC port in the Book's tablet.

    Hi barrygb54,

Thank you for the response also.

For the Ethernet cable, yes it should work. For the added storage, do you mean an external hard drive connected through the Surface dock? Yes it will work, the clipboard can still read the hard drive through the dock. If it is the SDcard, it wont since the clipboard doesn't have an SD card slot. unless if you'll connect the SDcard to the dock using an SD card reader.

    Kind Regards,

    Marrion Y.

    Hi barrygb54,

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Community.

It should work especially with the charging function. In regards with the other functions like with external monitors, it will be limited though to the capability of the clipboard since using only the clipboard: you wont be having the functionality of the graphics card found on the keyboard.

Thanks for your response. My intent was to be able to add storage, and maybe hardwire in the ethernet cable for a faster connection at some point. I am not concerned with external monitors, though that information is enlightening.

Yes, USB-connected portable drives, Thank you. Sadly, the dock I bought on ebay appears to be bricked. For one brief moment, I could see the drive on my Pro 4, but never on the Book2 tablet alone. Also, never saw the little light on the adapter where it plugs into the tablets.
