Need a KINDLE-like e-reader for surface RT

I have a surface RT which I would like to use to read books. On an x86 PC I simply download Kindle APP for PC and use it. But the Kindle app on Surface RT does not have two critical features that the x86 kindle app has. 1) I want to read books from other websites and 2) I want a multi-lingual dictionary. Thus on a Kindle for PC (x86) I can download French books from www.guetnberg.org and read. When I need the definition/meaning of a word, the built in dictionary on kindle gives me the answer when I press and hold on that word. This is a complete solution which provides a very convenient reading experience. On surface RT there is no way to load books downloaded from other websites (side-loading).

I am looking for this same experience on RT, and for that matter on windows 8 Phone. The one that comes closest to RT is nook e-reader. It can side-load books, but thus far I have found that it has only English dictionary.

Thanks

The Nook app was recently updated to read EPUB files:

"Import ePub and PDF files from your PC or SkyDrive to access your favorite content in one place."

Also, take a look at the freda app:

"Freda, the free ebook reader. The popular ebook reader for the Windows Phone platform (and Windows Mobile before that) has arrived on Windows 8.  Freda can read EPUB (DRM-free), FB2, HTML and TXT format books.  The app understands EPUB formatting information (bold/italic/large text, margins and alignment) and can display images and diagrams in books."

Thanks much. I will check out Freda. Does it have a dictionary though? I would like to read French books and have a dictionary handy to find meanings of the word. That is what is so good about kindle. You hold your figure on a word and up pops the meaning. Nook also has a dictionary but it is English only.

Still no proper Microsoft e-reader app for my Surface 2 rt. What poverty! Shouldn't I get myself an IPad?
