Is this battery usage typical for Photoshop usage among Surface Pro users
Three hours using a processor and video processor intensive app like Photoshop
is actually reasonable.

I just bought a Surface Pro 7 last week, but the battery seems very low - even when using high intensity software.
I have a Pro 7 i5 256GB 8 Ram, and have been using it mainly for photoshop work (not using the pen stylus). Battery setting is on 'recommended'
I know people are typically getting 7 hours or so battery life of normal usage, but using Photoshop I'm only getting a little over 3 hours of work done before it runs out.
Is this battery usage typical for Photoshop usage among Surface Pro users or is something wrong? I know its a high-energy programme, but still - I was expecting more than 3 hours for a £1000+ laptop.
If 3 hours is all I'm getting then I'm probably going to have to return it.

Try running at a lower brightness like 40% and see if that helps
For photo editing and color work, I personally would not reduce brightness.
I have a Surface Pro 7 i5 8gb and my battery lasts 3 hours maximum web browsing. 2 hours photoshop and overheats and crashes. So many problems with this device and so terribly disappointed in Microsoft and their lack of proper support.
