Hello Landsharkk,
Thanks for reaching Microsoft Community. We're sorry to learn that your device can't locate a wireless printer. We'll do our best to help.
May I know what version of Windows you have? Does the printer on another device connected to the same network?
In the meantime, please give these methods a try and see if issue persists or not:
- Force a shutdown and restart your Surface (microsoft.com).
- Run the Surface Diagnostic Toolkit and check for Windows Update. Ensure all pending updates are installed.
- Manually install drivers and firmware for Surface Check what is the current OS Build of your Windows version by typing winveron the search barnear the Windows logo. Go to Download driver and firmware for Surface**,**choose (your Surface model) then click Download.
Choose the .msi file closest to your current OS Build and click Next.
After downloading, run and install the .msi then Restart. - Run the System File Checker in Windows (microsoft.com).
Here are also some methods to troubleshoot the printer:
- Run a printer power cycle. Turn off your printer and unplug it, wait 30 seconds, plug your printer back in, and then turn the printer back on.
- Set printer as default. Select the Start button, and then select Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners . Select your printer and then select Open queue. Under Printer, select Set As Default Printer, and clear Pause Printing and Use Printer Offline if they are selected. If you see a message that says, "Windows will stop managing your default printer for you," select OK.
- In the search box on the taskbar, type services, and then select Services in the list of results. Find the Print Spooler service, right-click it, and select Restart.
Hope this helps. Feel free to respond on this thread to let us know how it goes.
Regards,
StevenK
