So recently I updated my Microsoft Surface Pro Laptop and It added Windows Hello which allows you to sign in, in different ways like

  1. Face Recognition , 2. PIN, 3. Password, 4. Fingerprint,5. Security Key, And Picture Password. Well when I selected fingerprint it loaded and was looking for a fingerprint scanner that was compatible with my device and it couldn't find one so I was just wondering if anyone knows how to fix this problem as I would like to be able to sign into my laptop with my fingerprint, or if you have had this same issue and know what to do to make this work then PLEASE share it with me because that would be great!

Thank You So Much In Advance,

Sincerely, Veda Fox

There are a number of computers that have fingerprint scanners.  Most of them are laptops.

On the computers that have scanners have a indented square that is where you scan your fingertip when asked.  After it takes that is where you scan to log on.

Which exact Surface Pro Laptop do you have?

The Surface Laptop Go (except for the entry level model) has a built in fingerprint reader, but other Surface devices do not. There is a version of the Surface type cover for Surface Pro devices that has a fingerprint reader.

Please tell us exactly which Surface you have.

The regular typecover for the SP7 does not have a Fingerprint Reader. Is there a problem using Windows Hello Face Recognition to sign in?
