Hello I have bought a Mini DisplayPort to HDMD Ultra HD 4k x 2k adapter gold plated and I am unable to change adapter settings to anything higher than 30hz. How can I get my surface pro to output at 60hz?

You need to try one of the specific adapters listed at

If you are sure to have one of those adapters that can support 4k 60hz, the next thing to check is the manual of your UHD monitor.

I have a Samsung UHD monitor, it has 2x HDMI ports on the back, and only one HDMI port supports 4k 60hz. Needless to say, the other port supports lower refresh rate only. Hope this helps.
