A few weeks ago, my Surface Pro 4's screen starting "jumping". The screen will bounce up and down, though usually a small part of the bottom or top won't. The more I use it, the more the screen bounces. I can connect it to a second monitor, which causes the main screen to continue bouncing but the monitor doesn't. I can slow how quickly this sets in by blowing a fan over the surface, so it seems partially heat-related.
I've read the posts here that describe a similar issue. I've taken all software / firmware steps from the responses. Unfortunately my Surface has been out of warranty for about two months. I spoke with customer service just now, and they insisted on charging $30 just to take a look at it (even though the problem is well-documented), and then if they had to replace it it would be full cost for a refurbished model. That's obviously not worth it - I really love my Surface, but if they break immediately after the warranty expires I can't afford to "rent" one for full price every 14 months.
Does anyone at all have a solution to this problem, or is this my last Surface? :(
