Surface Pro 8 Weird Touch Screen Behaviour

I have recently bought a Surface Pro 8 i7 16GB 256GB and have encountered a problem with the touchscreen. On seemingly random intervals, the touchscreen at a specific point will stop working. All other parts of the screen will work normally but a line of pixels about 3cm wide will not register any touch inputs, from either the pen or from a finger. The image shows where this occurs. The only fix I have is to delete the hardware drivers to stop this from happening but I feel that this should not be a normal routine. Are there any permanent solutions to this problem or will I have to just replace/repair this device?

Return it for a full refund and repurchase if this is a brand new Surface.
