My Surface Book 3 has an issue. The screen "disconnects" at the slightest touch or vibration. Does anyone know a way to reduce the severity of this issue?

Since the keyboard section of my Surface Book 3 has a dedicated GPU, I can check on the task manager if it's detecting it and using it. That allows me to see if my laptop is actually well connected or not. When it disconnects, I hear the USB disconnected sound. If I'm running a program that uses my dedicated GPU and it disconnects, the program either freezes or crashes on the spot and I lose any progress.

This has been happening since I got this laptop, but it's only been getting worse and worse. I am afraid to move my laptop when I use it. I don't dare tilt the angle of my screen. I don't even use the detached screen. My warranty is finished.

    Hello there,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

The screen split feature of the Surface Book series will only disconnect the base GPU when you press and hold the detach button and see "Ready to detach" on the screen.

If your SUrface Book3 disconnects only when touched or vibrates, there is a problem with the base and screen connection of the device.

If your Surface Book3 is out of warranty, there is a fee to create a repair.

For instructions on this and how to create a repair, please refer to the following two links:
