Does Surface Pro 9 (not 5g) BENEFIT from using a USB-C PD charger that charges at a HIGHER wattage than 65w?

So it says that the Surface Pro 9 should be charged with a charger that's AT LEAST 65w. I'm assuming that also means I can use a charger higher than that if I wanted to also. But I just wanted to know if the surface would even benefit from a higher wattage. I don't want to buy a 100w USB-C pd charger for example, and it still charges at the same speed as the regular surface pro 9 charger.

    Thank you for reaching Microsoft Community. I understand that you are inquiring about the benefits of using a USB-C PD charger that charges at a higher wattage than 65W for your Surface Pro 9.

    Surface devices that has USB-C port like the Surface Pro 9 supports Fast Charging. Which means it can charge up to 80% in about an hour on most devices. However, Fast Charging requires two main things: enough power and proper temperature range for charging. See: USB-C and Fast Charging for Surface - Microsoft Support

    For enough power, you need to use the Microsoft Surface power supply that was designed for your Surface device, or a USB Type-C PD charger that provides at least the same wattage as the power supply that was designed for your Surface. For the Surface Pro 9, the recommended wattage is 65W. If you use a lower-voltage charger or a USB-A charger with a USB-A-to-USB-C cable, your device may charge slowly, and it won't use Fast Charging.

    For proper temperature range for charging, the temperature should be between 25°C (77°F) and 35°C (95°F). If the temperature is too high or too low, it may affect the charging speed and battery health.

    Therefore, if you want to use a USB-C PD charger that charges at a higher wattage than 65W, such as 100W, you need to make sure that the charger is compatible with your Surface device and that the temperature is within the optimal range. Otherwise, you may not see any benefit from using a higher wattage charger. In fact, some reviews suggest that using a higher wattage charger may not make a noticeable difference in charging speed for the Surface Pro 9.

    However, using a higher wattage charger can still be beneficial in some cases:
