Outlook 2019 - problem with new meeting request in schedule view

Hello, we migrated our clients (WIN10) from office 2010 to office 2019. Outlook connects to our exchange 2016 server, everything is on premise, no cloud connection. When I use the schedule view in outlook 2010 and mark a timespace in an other calender, I can directly make a new meeting request via right click on the marked time space:

When I try to do the same thing in outlook 2019, the new meeting request option is greyed out:

Can anyone tell me, why I get this behaviour and how I can fix this? Thank you and kind regards.

    Hi @Horst ,

What's the version of your Outlook 2019? (File > Office Account > About Outlook). Please make sure you have upgraded your Outlook to the latest version.

I did test a lot in my environment but could not reproduce your issue in my Outlook. In order to conduct further researches on your issue, I may need you to provide more information related to your issue:

    • Does this issue only happen to certain users in your organization? Or happen to all the users?
    • Does this issue only happen in a specific time period of a specific calendar? It is suggested for you to try selecting other time periods on other calendars to test and see if the issue has any difference.
    • By the way, does this issue only happen when using "schedule view"? What if you try the "Day view"?

If you have any update about this issue, please feel free to let me know : )

    Hi @JeffYang-MSFT ,
sorry for the delayed answer. I did some more research about the problem, I compared the behaviour with office 2010 and office 2016 in our environment.
    I made three cases:

    1. appointment with other usermailbox, with full access
    2. appointment with other usermailbox, without any special rights
    3. appointment with ressource mailbox, without any special rights

    case 1 outlook 2010:

    61680-2010-fullaccess-user.jpg

    61779-2010-fullaccess-user-mail.jpg

    case 1 outlook 2016:

    61767-2016-fullaccess-user.jpg

    61791-2016-fullaccess-user-mail.jpg

    case 2 outlook 2010:

    61690-2010-noaccess-user.jpg

    61792-2010-noaccess-user-mail.jpg

    case 2 outlook 2016:

    61793-2016-noaccess-user.jpg

    case 3 outlook 2010:

    61811-2010-ressource.jpg

    61748-2010-ressource-mail.jpg

    case 3 outlook 2016:

    61812-2016-ressource.jpg

The main problem with the greyed out option in the right click menue seems the appear in outlook 2016 similar to outlook 2019.
In outlook 2010 everything seems to work correctly. The option for a new appointment is in every case in the correct behaviour available and the new email, which opens after the click, gets the recipient automatically inserted.
In outlook 2016 I only get the new appointment option in the mailbox I have full access on. And the in the new email, which opens automatically, the recipient is NOT inserted automatically.

    Strange behaviour...
