Can anyone confirm (or otherwise) whether W10 will be available for Surface devices?

And, if so, how do we go about reserving it? There isn't any Windows icon on the right of my task bar.........

    Thanks for any help.

Not for devices that run the RT version of Windows like Surface RT and Surface 2.

There may be some W10 features available for these devices if you believe some of the third party tech sites. But not the full Windows 10.

If you have a Surface 2 and not a Surface Pro 2, then Windows 10 is NOT

    available.

no they are not. there was a recent "upgrade" that added a Windows 10 like start

menu if you wanted that (you have to go in and enable it) but there will be NO

    Windows 10 upgrade for RT.

neither Surface RT or Surface 2 which run Windows RT can be upgraded to Windows

    1. You said you had Windows 8.1. Did you mean Windows 8.1 RT or do you have a

Surface PRO 2 with Windows 8.1?

there has been no information as to how much Windows 10 functionality will end

    up in RT - see http://www.cnet.com/news/microsofts-windows-rt-isnt-dead-yet/ - I

would imagine the upgrade will be free for the first year as well.

I have just purchased a surface 2 rt from the Microsoft store and have heard that there will be a free upgrade to windows 9 or whatever the official release name will be called. I have heard it will be a free upgrade for certain windows users. Having spent a fair bit of my hard earned cash in the Microsoft store I will get the upgrade?

Yes you will.  For the RT based tablets, any future upgrades will probably be either free or low cost because of the platform.

Probably expect Windows 9 Preview early next year for the RT tablets (latest word I have heard).

..Over the past few months there have been some conflicting statements from various Microsoft press releases and interviews regarding the fate of the ARM Surface tablets and the coming Windows 10 release.  I suspect I am not alone in wanting some clear statements on the future of the Surface(2) and Windows 10.
