Hi Michele!
Thanks for reaching Microsoft Community. We're here to help and let's work on this together.
I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with your Surface Laptop's battery. If cleaning the charger chip contacts and using a new charger did not resolve the issue, there may be an issue with the battery itself. I recommend trying a hard reset by holding down the power button for 30 seconds, then releasing it and waiting a few seconds before pressing it again to turn the device back on. If this does not work, you may need to contact Microsoft support for further assistance or consider getting the battery replaced. Below are the steps on how to contact them:
- Go to Contact Us- Contact Us - Microsoft Support.
- Choose how you would like to get support for your Surface device.
- Type in the problem you need help with.
- Look at any available solutions offered and select Contact Support.
If the above steps did not work, you can also check on Barb's step by step instructions on how to contact support How to get Phone and Chat Support (for Surface Home/Consumer - Microsoft Community.
Thanks again for choosing Microsoft. Hope this helps!
Regards,
RodelioP.
