Hello WyattLockhart,
Thanks for reaching out to Microsoft Community. I'm sorry for the inconvenience this has caused you. I understand how concerning it is to have such problem on your device.
Before anything else, I'd like to ask some questions for us to further isolate the issue.
- May I know what version of Windows your device running is?
- Does your battery drain more while in sleep or just using with applications?
- May I also know which apps contributed more to battery drain?
- When was the last time you updated your device?
- Were you also running third-party software such anti-virus in the background?
In the meantime, I'd like to inform you that Surface has designed this generation of devices to be up to twice as fast with a balance of performance, battery life, and great user experiences in a thin and light design. As a result of increased performance, overall battery life has been impacted, but we expect users will continue to get a full day of use from their Surface, and faster charging when they need it. Surface measures battery life based on a user profile that reflects how a typical Surface customer uses their device. To know more about how battery was tested, check Surface Laptop Studio – Infinitely flexible – Microsoft Surface, scroll down to bottom and see section 1 about battery life.
I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Regards,
StevenK
