    Hi Styczyński Mateusz,

Thank you for reaching Microsoft Community. I understand that you are experiencing an issue with your Surface Pro 9 SSD running at PCIe 3 speeds.

May I know where did you see these speeds? If possible, please provide us with a screenshot or photo of what you are seeing on your Surface.

Also, do you have the Intel i7 version or the Intel i5?

To troubleshoot the issue, kindly try first checking for the Surface drivers' health through the Surface app and run the Surface Diagnostic Toolkit to run some system checks and updates. Make sure also that all updates are installed in Windows Settings > Windows Updates including Optional updates then see if the speed improves. See this page for reference: Fix common Surface problems using the Surface app and Surface Diagnostic Toolkit - Microsoft Support

    Kind regards,
    Marrion

    Hi Styczyński Mateusz,

The Surface Pro 9 drive is a PCIe 4.0 drive. The CrystalDiskInfo tool shows only that both speeds (3.0 and 4.0) are supported. Can you please provide us with a screenshot showing the read/write speeds of the drive?

Hope to hear back from you.

    Kind regards,
    Marrion

I know that both modes are supported, but why slower 3.0 is currently used? If the PCIe 4.0 is supported by the device and the drive itself is a PCIe 4.0 drive like you wrote why the parameters aren't like this?

I am having the same problem. After following your instructions to run the Diagnostic Toolkit; it has found nothing wrong with my device. My Surface Pro 9 is also an i7 variant but my Gen4 SSD is connected at Gen3. There are not any updates available for my system.
