Not charging, led adapter light on.

Question

I was wondering if the issue i am having is an known issue. I have a 2 month old surface pro 4. It has worked fine but today i noticed it is plugged in, the white light on the adapter is on but it is not charging. I was wondering if its a common issue. I tried all the steps in support and I loath to bring it to get it repaired.

More details. It is plugged in but the icon shows as if its not plugged in and running on battery even though the white LED light is on adapter.

Let's get this resolved for you. If your Surface battery doesn't charge, try the solutions here. Follow troubleshooting steps under battery status "Not plugged in".

Thanks for the reply.  The first thing I did prior to posting here was try all the steps from the link you sent to no avail.  :-)

If the troubleshooting steps on the link provided didn't resolve the issue, we suggest that you go to a physical Microsoft retail store (if you're in the US) to have your Surface checked. Otherwise, contact the Answer Desk here.
