  • I've done all the typical attempts to fix. remove the cortana app, remove, uninstall drivers, reinstall and on and on.  This hands free mode sucks for music.
  • Several reset attempts
  • I've even tried a different Bluetooth adapter, same result. And, even got a replacement setof headphones - from the suggestion of MS support -  same thing.

Every other BT device works fine.

After more digging I noticed the driver BthA2dp.sys isn't working. Windows isn't recognizing it.  See attached images. I can't even delete the file to try to reinstall it.  This driver is working on other devices that the headphones pair with.

Not sure how much this matters, but the Surface Headphones Stereo don't show up under the Sound drop-down, just that error'd driver in their place.

I have no idea what change could have caused this. They worked one day and not the next.

So, I'm stuck. Any help would be much appreciated.
