Windows 10 froze while video streaming

Hello,

I have been using Surface Pro 7, Windows 10 (version 10.0.19045, Windows Home version 22H2) for serveral years, recently it freezes regularly particularly when I video-stream or take online video courses.

This happens no matter I was using Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome, I have to do a hard restart because the task manager is not responding. As shown in the images, there are "bubbles" appear on the top edge of screen and scroll pad is unresponsive but the touch screen function works fine. I have tried reset and update windows and install update drivers but this still happens. CPU usage is only about 30%-45% when this happens.

I would be much appreciated if someone could give me some advice how to fix, thank you very much!

Best regards

Yvonne

    Hi!

I am Harsh. I will help you with this issue.

If none of the steps are working, try clean installing Windows. It fixes most of the issues. I also had similar problem, and it got resolved.

    1. Download Media Creation Tool from Microsoft's website to download Windows file. Make sure you have an empty USB device with atleast 8 GB storage.
    2. Follow on-screen instructions to make USB bootable.
    3. Boot your PC from the USB, then install windows by following on-screen instructions.

If you need further assistance, feel free to reply!

    Have a nice day!

    Hello Harsh and Dumba_M3,

Thanks for your advice. I followed the instructions and fresh installed Windows. Unfortunately the problem still exist. I noticed that when this happens, my screen is a bit too warm then usual, I am not sure if this is because I am charging it while doing mutliple things at the same time.

Task manager is still not responding. If I am lucky, I just need to wait for a few seconds then it will back to normal but sometimes I have to force restart. I don't know what to do to fix it.

    Yvonne
