I have pressed something on the keyboard and now my main mousepad will not work - just the small button in the middle which is difficult to use. How do i switch back?

I have pressed something on the keyboard and the main mousepad is not working - just the little button in the middle of the keyboard which is making things very difficult - how do I switch it back?

    Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Community.

    Just to make sure: By main mousepad, you mean the touchpad on the lower part of your typecover (see image below)?

    If yes, please try these steps to troubleshoot the issue:

    1: Check Touchpad settings if On

                     Open Windows Settings > Devices > Touchpad

                     Check if Touchpad toggle is ON

    2: Reset Touchpad settings

                     Open Windows Settings > Devices > Touchpad

                     Scroll down and select Reset option

    3: Run Surface Diagnostic Toolkit and check Windows Update

    4: Update drivers and firmware

                                   Check what is the current OS Build of your Windows version by going to Settings > System > About.

                                   Go to Download driver and firmware for Surface, choose Surface Pro 7 then click Download on the next page.

                                   Choose the .msi file that matches your current OS Build and click Next.

                                   After downloading, run and install the .msi then Restart.

    5: Run System File Checker Tool in Windows 10
