Enabling Virtualization on Windows Surface 7 w/ Windows 11 OS

Everywhere I read tells me that it should be enabled by default. I am trying to run/install APK's on windows 11 but receive errors saying I do not have virtualization turned on. Upon checking the UEFI I see no option to enable it either.

    Hi Burface Bro

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

Based on the description you posted, it seems that you have an issue with Surface Pro7 wherein you are trying to install APK on Windows 11 and asking to enabling Virtualization on Windows.

    • May I know what APK app you are trying to install?

We checked on this link Enable virtualization on Windows 11 PCs - Microsoft Support Virtualization is already enabled on Surface devices.

If you are unable to find the option to enable virtualization in the UEFI settings, it is possible that your Surface Pro 7 does not support virtualization. However, before coming to that conclusion, you can try the following steps:

    • Check if virtualization is enabled in Windows 11. To do this, open Task Manager, click on the Performance tab, and then click on CPU. Look for the Virtualization section and check if it says "Enabled" or "Disabled".

To enable the virtual machine platform in Windows 11, you can follow these steps:

    1. Press the Windows key and type “Windows features” in the search bar.
    2. Select Turn Windows features on or off from the search results.
    3. In the Windows Features window, scroll down to Virtual Machine Platform and check the box next to it.
    4. Click OK to save the changes. Then restart your Surface to apply changes.

Please let me know how it goes.

    Kind regards,

    Christopher.
