Surface Pro 3 Keyboard stop working after update

I have recently update my surface pro 3 with recent Win 10 updates and (may be firmware). Since then my keyboard has stopped working completely. I have tried resetting system image to factory default but still no luck. Reading up on different forum seems like issue with firmware/hardware update by MS which stopped recognizing this keyboard. Some folks were able to bring it back to life after a complete discharge and power up but problem comes back on very next reboot or sleep. Is there any permanent fix to this?

I've not seen anyone report a permanent fix, unfortunately. If a complete wipe and reimage fails to resolve, there really are no options.

    Barb,

Seems like there is bug in code released for this BIOS where update stop or intermittently stop detecting keyboard cover device, In other words bottom USB port where this cover is attached. I was able to make it work as stated above after draining the battery, but it is not a fix. Is it possible to go back to previous version of BIOS firmware? I am having difficulty installed win 8.1 recovery image as well in hopes that it may downgrade my firmware for BIOS.

    Regards,

    Zabi
