Hi Bryan,
It is possible that your Surface Pro 2 did not reboot properly or the power was drained while your Surface is in the middle of rebooting. However, you can try the troubleshooting steps below and see if helps you resolve the issue.
- Press and hold the power button on your Surface for 30 seconds and then release it.
- Press and hold the volume-up button and the power button at the same time for at least 15 seconds and then release both. The screen may flash the Surface logo, but continue holding the buttons down for at least 15 seconds.
- After you release the buttons, wait 10 seconds.
- Press and release the power button to turn your Surface back on. You should see the Surface logo.
You can also check for things that might prevent your Surface or Windows from starting or the battery from charging.
- Disconnect everything. Remove everything connected to your Surface and unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet. (If you're using a docking station, undock your Surface.)
- Check connectors. Check for any damage to your connectors and use a soft cloth to make sure the connectors and charging port are clean and free of debris.
Note: If you see any damage to the charging port, power connector, or power cord, contact our Answer Desk. 3. Plug in your Surface. After checking the connections, plug the power supply in to a working electrical outlet and reconnect the power connector to the charging port. Make sure that the connections are secure and that nothing is plugged in to the USB charging port on the power supply.
