Pen pressure sensitivity bugged since Windows 10 Upgrade

Hi guys,

I've been trying to search for an answer for this but I can't seem to find anyone who has the same issue as me, so it might be an issue with my device rather than a common problem.

Since the upgrade to Windows 10, the pens pressure sensitivity seems bugged in applications like Photoshop elements and Blender. Prior to the upgrade I was using my surface for 2D and 3D artwork and texturing and I loved it, it was the best portable device I had ever used. But since the upgrade the pressure sensitivity does not work about 30-50% of the time. It treats even the lightest tough as if it were at full pressure, meaning I can't trail off a stroke. It makes texture work impossible as it DOES work at least half the time, but then randomly a thick dark line will be thrown in there.

I have tried updating Windows many times (with some result as they have finally fixed the Sleep issue I was also having), I have reinstalled the latest Wacom pen drivers, I have reinstalled Photoshop Elements. I am at a loss as to how to fix this issue. It was working perfectly before the upgrade, I've had Windows 10 installed since the Developer Preview and I just can't work out where it is coming from.

Can someone please help.

    Hello Jake Kelsey

Thanks for reaching out to us.  Sorry to hear you are having pen pressure sensitivity problems since installing Windows 10.

Is this happening across all apps and functions, or just these programs?

You can find pen troubleshooting information Here

    Best regards

It happens on all programs I've used where pressure sensitivity was needed, and I mentioned that I've gone through all of the troubleshoot tips....

I have found some information though. The main problem seems to be stemming from the navigational flicks option in the standard pen settings. It seems that the tablet was sometimes treating a quick brushstroke as a navigational flick and just drawing a full strength line between the two points (the start of the flick detection and the end) then it would maintain that strength throughout. By turning off the navigational flicks I can now make an unlimited amount of pressure sensitive lines as long as they are very quick. If I try to draw slowly then it starts to register the timer for a press and hold option and again sets the pressure up to full.

I wish I could work out what was going on, as all of these settings have been there since Windows 8.1 and it worked perfectly then...

I too have this issue and it's been driving me nuts! Since upgrading to windows 10 my tablet only detects up to half the pressure. So annoying! Did you manage to find a fix?

Me, too, but in Fresh Paint. Frustrating that a Windows update hampers a Windows app, particularly one they advertise a lot. I'm going to try the partial fix posted below, but I don't expect Microsoft to fix this one any time soon.
