Showing small OSK

I'm unable to find a toggle in Settings to open the small on-screen keyboard. Past references indicate this was once available.

I have a new Surface Pro 11 and need to display the small OSK when using tablet mode.

Is a small stand-alone numeric keypad also available in Windows 11 that I can open?

Thanks for your help.

    Hello Del Simcox,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

You are talking about the number Keyboard in the On-Screen keyboard, as shown below:

There is really no corresponding option in the system Settings, because this option is built into the OSK application. You will notice that there is an option called "Options" in the screenshot, click it to open the Options of OSK, please open "Turn on numeric key pad" and click OK to save.

The OSK page will then look like this:

Click the NumLock button below and you will see the numeric keypad.

Thanks for your reply and the screenshots you provided. However, I am unable to see the OSK in Mitchell's screenshots. I'm using Excel - and when I double-tap a worksheet cell, a small alpha-numeric keyboard appears. By clicking the "&123" key on the left, a dedicated numeric keyboard appears - with keys that would enable me to write an algebraic expression - but I was hoping to see a small "10-digit calculator style keypad".

As it turns out, I created a small keypad using VBA which is working well for me. I needed frequent access to fractions (1/8 thru 7/8) and created keys for those as well.
