Hello,

Is it possible to replace Surface book 2 battery? I am thinking to get Surface book 2 as my business laptop. It is really powerful device and I like it a lot. However, I am not sure if it is possible to replace the battery? It is okay if I cannot replace it by my own, but if I send it in service, can they do it for me? And what could be approximate price for something like this? Surface book 2 is not cheap, and this is okay. But I am buying it as long term laptop for my business. If battery cannot be replaced, this could be a real problem.

Thanks

The Surface Book has two batteries. One in the base and one in the tablet. They are not replaceable. The Surface Book is not considered serviceable by Microsoft. Perhaps that will change in the future but I would not count on it.

    Hey,

Thanks for the answer. So you are really trying to tell me that one of the most expensive laptops out there (talking about "normal" laptops) when the battery dies, you can throw it away? :D I mean I know that I can use it as the desktop then but when we talk about mobility it is over? :D

Who would do something stupid like that? I really like the surface, but now when I hear this I will really consider other manufacturers :D

If the machine fails within the warranty period (two years with extended warranty in the US) they will replace it. After that I'm not sure what they do. I'm curious myself.

I am actually on the chat with support as we speak. They change it for a new device but you have to pay for it. they send me this it is copy paste:

These are Microsoft Certified Exchange units and are very good as new and you're getting a solid piece of Windows-based technology that's been carefully examined and meticulously tested by our expert staff. All exchanged Surface tablets are tuned up and re-flashed with the latest software versions and apps, so they're as fresh as the day they were originally built.

Not sure about the price tho
