2013-07-13T00:51:39+00:00 Greetings A G Williams,
Yes, the power cable is a Figure-8 design. It is not recommended to change the cable that plugs into the Power brick.
For region specific adapters, you can contact the Microsoft Storeand see if they have them available.
Surface Pro Power Cable replacement
Hi,
So I have a surface Pro and have two questions regarding the power cable.
1. Is it fully a normal "figure 8" power cable? Therefore the bit that goes from the power block to the electrical outlet can be replaced with any figure8 cable?
2. I travel a lot between US (2 slot), Europe (2 pin), and UK (3 pin). If you look at mobile phones such as HTC etc. they have great little power chargers where you can simply detach the final piece and replace with the appropriate ones for the region. If the answer to question 1 is "YES".. then does anyone know of someone who has built a nice one for a figure 8 power supply ? It kind of defeats the purpose to have a small PSU, then a really big and awkward adapter at the end of it.
Thanks!
Gavin
