Hello KarlieWeng,
thank you for your reply. First I should mention that my post was not complete. We use Citrix software in our environment and the Chromebooks are running the latest available Citrix Workspace app.
If a device has a valid RDS license then the Licensing server will not issue a new RDS license which off course makes sense.
However if I have a brand new Chromebook or a Chromebook with an expired temporary RDS2012 license then I run into a logon problem if the Licensing server does not have a RDS2012 license available anymore. There are enough RDS2019 licenses available but these are not issued (a temporary RDS2019 is also not issued) to the Chromebook so that the user cannot logon.
Brand new Windows devices (or Apple devices) get a RDS2019 license issued as expected. As of this week we also discovered that our Linux-based devices (Wyse 5070 Thinclients) don't always get a RDS2019 license issued.
Revoking issued RDS2012 licenses resolves the problem for the Chromebooks because they then get a revoked RDS2012 license issued.
I am somewhat puzzled by your remark about editing the Windows Registry on the client device since my client device is a Chromebook or a Linux-based thinclient.
Cheers,
Frank
