Interrupted charging. Help needed to troubleshoot.

Hey everyone.

I had this issue that's become really bad at this point. I cant use my surface book while charging because basically it will just keep on decharging/interrupting every 3 seconds. Charging is slow generally even when not using (because of the interrupting intermittent charging).

Attached is the battery report file generated.

Is it an issue from the charger? from the cables? from the battery itself? What should I do to fix it?

Thank you!

    Hello Hagop Tashjian,

    Thanks for reaching Microsoft Community.

Have you tested another charger on your device to see if issue persists or not? This is also to determine whether this issue is with the device or just the charger.

In the meantime, please give these methods a try and observe your device:

    • Disconnect the PSU (Power supply unit) and check connections. Unplug the power connector from side of device. Check that the power cord is securely attached to the PSU. Wipe the pins on the power connector with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth (microfiber cloths work great). Plug the PSU back into the wall outlet. If possible, try a different wall outlet. Plug the power connector back into the side of the device. Press the side of the connector to ensure it's fully inserted.
    • Try turning the power connector over and plugging into the device from a different orientation.
    • Remove and reinstall battery driver. Open Device Manager, expand the Batteries category. Double-tap or double-click Microsoft Surface ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery, select the Driver tab, and select Uninstall > OK.
    • Run Surface Diagnostic Toolkit and check for Windows Update. Make sure to check View Optional features and select all necessary updates for your device. Restart the Surface after installing updates.
    • Manually install drivers and firmware Check what is the current OS Build of your Windows version by typing winveron the search barnear the Windows logo. Go to Download driver and firmware for Surface**,**choose (your Surface model) then click Download.
Choose the .msi file closest to your current OS Build and click Next.
After downloading, run and install the .msi then Restart.
    • Run System File Checker in Windows 10.
