Surface Pro 9 Sound keys only work when holding down Windows Key

On my surface pro 9, the sound keys (on the keyboard and the computer) only work when I hold the windows key, and if I press the sound keys, my windows key has to be held down to display the windows start menu. This problem just started happening today. I have seen another forum, but the other one was in 2017 and for the Surface Pro 4 and there was no real answer. Im not sure, but I think that there's a key-bind problem, although I'm not certain.

I found the fix, it was a program I used called Tablet Pro Studio to configure and customize my buttons on the stylus, had to uninstall it because it messed with my other keybinds

    Hi,cot-

Welcome to the community visit regarding your feedback about having to hold down the Windows key at the same time to use the volume keys . I will do my best to assist you.

First of all, I need to make sure with you that pressing the Fn key and then pressing the volume key will adjust the volume? Or is it possible to adjust the volume by holding down the Fn key while pressing the Down key and then the Volume key?

Secondly if you use the volume keys you have to hold down the Windows key, which can be caused by issues such as keyboard drivers.

    1. Install the official Surface driver package, all Surface model driver package URL: Download drivers and firmware for Surface - Microsoft Support (System version query: Start menu - Settings - System - About - Windows specifications - Version) to download the corresponding driver package.
    2. To run the Diagnostic Repair Tool, trouble click here: Fix common Surface problems using the Surface app and Surface Diagnostic Toolkit - Microsoft Support
    3. Backup data, reset the system: Settings - Update and Security - Recovery - Reset this computer - Start, then select Delete all files and drives.

I hope the above information can help you. If my understanding is wrong, please point it out to me so that I can assist you better.
