I would like to use an external higher megapixel plugin camera instead of the inbuilt cameras on my Surface 2 laptop to get a better quality video recirding. Is it possible?

    Hi ALAMPALLAMVENKATACHALAM,

Thank you for reaching out  Microsoft Community and for raising this concern if you can use an external camera to get a better video quality when recording. Yes, this is possible!  But, you need to disable the built-in camera first so you can use the external camera.

So here's how you can disabled the built-in camera :

Right-click on the Windows 10 Start button and select Device Manager. In the Device Manager window that opens, select the plus sign to expand imaging devices. Right-click on your built-in camera's name and select "disable device" from the options available. If asked for confirmation, choose Yes. Then, restart you Surface device.  Lastly, check if its now working.

If in case the above mentioned instruction won't work, please make sure that everything's updated on your Surface Laptop 2.

    >> Go to Settings > Select Update & Security > Click Check for Updates and install those updates available completely
