I am trying to mirror my surface pro 3 to my tv and I am having a hard time connecting it with the wireless display adapter.  the adapter shows up on the tv and says "ready to connect" then when I connect it on my surface, the tv says "connecting to my computer" then the screen goes blank, while my surface shows that its connected.  When I disconect from my surface, the tv screen stays blank, doesn't go back to the "ready to connect" screen.

Sometimes it does work tho but might take me 10-20 mintues of restarting the surface and tv.  I tried switching it to different usb and hdmi ports and the same thing happens.

Is there a solution to this or did i get a defective wireless display adatper?

Make sure your SP3 is fully patched with the latest Firmware Updates and install the Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter from the Store and update the Firmware for it as well.

What TV brand/model are you connecting the WDA to? Did you try resetting the WDA using the reset button on the WDA?

Emerson 50" led tv.  The roku and blu ray player works fine with no issues.  my surface is updated.  I can connect to my friends wda with no issues at his house.  I will try my wda on another tv at work today to see if works.  If not, i'll go and exchange it.
