selecting text

I browse the internet using Google Chrome. Sometimes I want to select text on a webpage. I don't want to use my pen. BTW I'm using Microsoft Surface Pro. I try to touch the text and hold my finger to right-click it. A menu appears but it doesn't have an option to select text. I try to point my finger and drag across the screen. But nothing happens. Does anyone knows how to select text on Surface?

ChromeTouch is a handy extension that turns the Chrome browser into a touch-optimized web browser. ChromeTouch lets you navigate through web pages without the help of scrollbars and it even offers option to hide the scrollbar completely.

You can change drag speed, sliding distance and sliding factor, and drag direction settings. Visit this page to download and install ChromeTouch. Once installed, a small red button will sit next to bookmark this page button. Right-click on this ChromeTouch button to access basic and advanced settings of the extension.

    Hi,

How to Copy and Paste Text on Surface Pro/RT

    * If you want to copy the text from IE 10 to other app,

For Touch: Press and hold the first word of text to start, then a circle icon will show up. Now highlight the text to its last words by moving your finger. Tap the text and select “Copy”.

For keyboard of type cover: Highlight the text from begin to the end, and right-click to choose Copy box.

    * Open anther app to paste it.

Mail app: tap and hold anywhere to bring up a tool bar at the bottom, and touch “Paste”.

Office Word/Excel 2013: Click/Tap on Paste button from menu bar. Or use mouse to get the same menu like doing on computer.

Google Chrome is not touch optimized. Sorry but you have to use the pen or touchpad if you want to select a text on a desktop App.

On Firefox though it works by just draging your fingers on the text you want to select.
