I want to buy the Surface Pro 11 with 32 gb of ram (only available on the Microsoft shop online) but I want to be sure that I can run STATA and R on it. I know there has been problems with older versions of Surface pros... Could it be possible to run these apps on a Surface pro 11 ?

    Hello, Vaso_983.

    Welcome to Microsoft Community!

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Community. After reading your question related to the limitations of using Surface Pro 11, I will provide you with the following information:

Yes, you can install and run both STATA and R on a Surface Pro 11 with 32GB of RAM.

STATA: The latest versions of STATA are compatible with Windows 11, which the Surface Pro 11 runs. The hardware specifications of the Surface Pro 11, especially with 32GB of RAM, exceed the minimum requirements for STATA, ensuring smooth performance.

R: R is also compatible with Windows 11 and should run efficiently on the Surface Pro 11. The ample RAM will help in handling large datasets and complex computations without significant lag.

The issues with older Surface Pro models were often related to hardware limitations or compatibility with earlier versions of Windows. The Surface Pro 11, with its updated hardware and software, should not face these problems.

Thank you for your support of Surface products.

Finally, please allow me to express my sincere wishes.

    Best Regards.
