If your TV has HDMI, you need a MDP to HDMI cable. See

Surface Pro (5th Gen) - how to connect to a TV
How can I connect my Surface Pro (5th Gen) to a non smart TV (cannot connect wirelessly) and I do not have a HDMI port of course which is what the TV wants me to be able to use.
I have a fifth-generation Surface Pro (marketed as the Surface Pro, referred to as Surface Pro 1796 on Microsoft's support site, colloquially referred to as the Surface Pro 2017)
