Surface Book 2 Will not turn on!

If you could help out on any way this would be greatly appreciated as I have my dissertation to submit.

Basically I turned my Surface Book 2 on yesterday and it worked fine, I typed my pin in and gained access to my desktop. I opened a word document and then it completely turned off. Now what happens is when I hold the power button to turn it on, the keyboard lights up for around 5 seconds then turns off and 5 seconds later this repeats infinitely basically.

I have noticed that while it lights up I can toggle the FN key and use the detach key. I have tried every troubleshoot and at this point I just want to know what is wrong with it and just get back to the desktop from this black screen. It seems I have had neverending software updates that have caused blue screen and black screen issues and more issues after a Microaoft staff member took control of my laptop and edited stuff. The charger lights up and seems to work with no problem however I am completely mystified what the issue is.

Many Thanks

    Hello Demsville,

Thank you for reaching out Surface Community. We are very sorry to hear about your Surface Device and for the inconvenience this has caused you. Can you try to detach the keyboard then do a force shutdown and restart.

1.Press and hold the power button until the screen turns off (about 10 seconds), then release the power button.

2.Press and release the power button to turn your Surface back on. You should see the Microsoft logo.

If that doesn't work, here's how to make sure your Surface turns off completely:

Press and hold down the power button until your Surface restarts and you see the Windows logo screen (this takes about 20 seconds), then release the power button.

Let me know what happens after that. You may also try that with the keyboard connected. Looking forward for your response.

    Regards,

    KarenJune_F

The screen doesn't come on no matter what I do or which buttoms I hold. If it is switched on the keyboard will light up for 5 seconds then turn off for 5 seconds and repeat infinitely. Or if it is switched off it fors nothing. None of the button combinations do anything

You mentioned that you tried various button combinations.

Have you tried a hard restart?

Press and hold both the power button and the volume + button until the UFEI screen comes up. It can take over a minute.

If that doesn't work then you might want to try to reinstall Windows from a flash drive.
