I've noticed this aswell. However using the 5ghz instead of the 2,4ghz wifi seems to have fixed It for me, no more weird buffering issues.
bluetooth speaker affects streaming
I just got a Bluetooth speaker for my Surface 2 so I can listen to my music and watch TV with great sound. I paired the device without any problems. When I play music from my collection that I own (i.e. I have bought the music), the speaker works perfectly.
However, when I try to stream music or watch live TV, the streaming is suddenly disrupted when the speaker is connected. For example, if I watch news via the Sky News app, the picture and sound are ok for about 30 seconds, but then the picture freezes and all I get is the sound. Also, if I watch TV via the web, for example BBC, the picture and sound work ok for about 10 or 20 seconds, and then the picture and sound freeze, and the playback buffers. Then the picture and sound return for about 10 seconds, and then it buffers again. This is clearly associated with the Bluetooth speaker because this never happened before. As soon as I switch the Bluetooth speaker off, the issue goes away, and I can stream music and watch TV on my Surface as normal.
Why would the Bluetooth signal affect the WiFi streaming? Is this a known issue and is there some way I can fix it? Or does the problem need to be reported to Microsoft so they can update the radio protocols if necessary?

2013-12-29T13:19:43+00:00 As far as I can tell, I should be connected to my 5Ghz WiFi. This issue is really bugging me. I hope Microsoft pick up on this thread because it must affect all Surfaces.

Yeah I thought so aswell, in my case It wasn´t though. After naming my 5GHZ ssid, i.e Router 5GHZ, it showed up next to my 2,4ghz wifi. Before that I only saw one ssid, where now there are two to choose from.

2014-01-15T14:35:36+00:00 I think in my case, I just have too many other applications using wifi at the same time. I don't think it's a bluetooth problem after all.
