An update: Went to the store where I purchased the surface. I was able to pair my phone with a display model. I may have a faulty unit. So I am going to exchange it. Hope this helps someone.
Surface Laptop won't connect to T-Mobile hotspot
Hello all,
I purchased a Microsoft Surface laptop (Model JRR-00001) a week back. Today, I tried to pair it to my T-Mobile (US) hotspot (iPhone 6S+) and I was told I couldn't connect to network. Then I tried to pair the Surface to the phone via bluetooth. That didn't work either. I looked at the forums and I can't find anything that matches my exact situation.
Steps to resolve:
Tried to connect to mobile hotspot via Wifi -- Result: Message: Could not connect to network
Tried to connect to mobile hotspot via Bluetooth pairing -- Result: iPhone displayed the computer as a device, but the iPhone wouldn't allow pairing
Tried to connect to mobile hotspot via Bluetooth pairing -- Result: Computer showed iPhone as bluetooth device, but wouldn't pair
Rebooted both devices to try again, repeated steps 1-3, same results.
Used a coworker's Samsung Galaxy's Hotspot ability (Also with T-Mobile) -- Repeated steps 1-3, same results
Able to connect to company's Wifi with no issue
Windows is up to date, battery is fully charged.
What steps should I take next?
Should I take the computer back as faulty and try another one?
Should I ditch the surface all together and get a different computer (Last Resort, prefer not to do that)?
